The Middle East is an area where automobile is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly methods of walking around.
But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints worldwide, one company is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's very first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing profitable too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
